Rescue System Audit

We never trust the narrative of a failed project. We audit the actual code, workflows, and communication logs to find the root cause before we write a single line of fix-it code.

Why the Audit is Mandatory

When a project fails, the client’s perception of why it failed is often the exact reason it failed in the first place. Miscommunication, misunderstood requirements, and hidden technical debt are rarely visible from the surface.

We do not walk into a rescue project relying on the client’s understanding of the system. We have to audit the actual code, the workflows, and the communication logs. This audit is the diagnostic scan. At the end of it, you receive a complete findings document and a fixed-price proposal to execute the rescue. If you choose not to proceed with us, the report is yours to keep and hand to another developer.

The 5-Step Diagnostic Process

1. Executive Interview: We talk to leadership to understand the original vision, where it derailed, and what the business actually needs right now.

2. Department Head Interview: We speak with the managers overseeing the project to identify operational bottlenecks and workarounds their teams have developed.

3. End-User Interviews: We talk to the staff using the system daily. This uncovers the massive gaps between what leadership thinks is happening and the manual reality on the ground.

4. Technical Review: We examine the code, APIs, data structures, and integrations. We identify what is salvageable, what is pure technical debt, and what poses a security risk.

5. Findings Document: We compile everything into a comprehensive report detailing the root causes of failure and a clear, priced roadmap for remediation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why can't you just give me a quote over a quick phone call?
Quoting a rescue project without looking at the backend is how agencies overpromise and underdeliver. We need to see the actual technical debt before we commit our time or your budget. The audit protects both of us.
What if you find out the system cannot be saved?
Sometimes the technical debt is so severe that a rebuild is cheaper and safer than a rescue. If we discover this during the audit, our findings document will explicitly recommend scrapping the current system, and we will provide a scope for a New Build instead.
Does the audit fee go toward the final rescue cost?
No. The audit is a standalone diagnostic product. It covers the dedicated hours spent interviewing your team, reverse-engineering the broken code, and writing the comprehensive report.
